Not always been able to fend them off, but he's done well for himself all things considered. Avoided having to mate to protect himself at any rate. So when he walks into his office after a long, harrowing group session, when the light of the hallway barely illuminates the shape leaning against the desk, Sam isn't scared.

The door says S. Wilson. Not Sam. But then, Sam is well known here, and there's something familiar about the guy's looks. He might have shown his face around these parts before, or else perhaps he's just in a group Sam doesn't handle. At any rate... That smile is sharp in ways that put Sam on edge.
"No offense, but I suggest you leave. I'm being courted and will be picked up in a hot second."
That? A lie of course. But floating the possibility of confrontation rather than an easy knotting deters many an alpha.
